Anyone heard of this thing?  I noticed it while checking out the Steam page on Portal 2.



It looks like a precise Wii mote style controller for the PC.

Although I don't recall having a portal gun in Portal 2 quite like what you see in the video.

Did anyone else notice the insane pricing on hard drives lately?  I was surfing NewEgg and noticed 1TB drives over $130.  I thought I had to be missing something, because I bought a 1TB drive over a year ago for $65.  Turns out there was a flood that destroyed about 25% of the world's hard drive makers.  Looks like prices will be high for several months.  Some are up 150%.  Sucks.

Heroes & Generals will be an FPS meets RTS game; you'll start out as a battlefield scrub, but can rise through the ranks to officer and general command. This rank-rising eventually yields a Strategy game in which you can "devise grand plans" and manage your team in a variety of helpful and impressive ways (planning attacks, supplying reinforcements, general logistics).

According to an overview on the site, the persistent game world will be accessible across a plethora of platforms, with mention of smart phones and social networks as different ways in which to contribute to the ongoing war.

The following pre-alpha gameplay footage was released yesterday and you can sign up for an alpha key on the Heroes & Generals site.

The 64-player Caspian Border map is now open to gamers playing the PC beta of Battlefield 3! Caspian Border is a multi-faceted, vehicle heavy map that exemplifies classic Battlefield gameplay.

The beta ends on the 10th Monday so if you want to be able to see if the game is worth buying make sure you jump on this weekend. I tried it out earlier and it is definitely an experience. Not 100% sure if Im going to get it but Im going to give it a go this weekend....
